Bridgeport Library Seeks Public Input in Community Survey

Bridgeport Headline

A few days remain for residents, visitors, and patrons of the Bridgeport Public Library to help shape its future by participating in a Community Survey.

The survey, open now through Sept. 19, is designed to gather feedback on the services, programs, and resources that matter most to Bridgeport residents. Results will help guide priorities for library programs, collections, and spaces across all branches in the years ahead. It takes only about five minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous. Participants can fill out the survey online at bportlibrary.org/survey or pick up a paper copy at any library branch.

“This survey is about listening and being responsive,” City Librarian Elaine Braithwaite stated in a press release. “Our libraries are the heart of the neighborhoods they serve, and input from patrons and residents will help us design programs, collections, and spaces that reflect what matters. Combined with the feedback from our community forums earlier this year, this survey will directly inform our new strategic plan.”

The survey launch comes during National Library Card Sign-up Month, a nationwide campaign that highlights the benefits of having a library card, which are free and unlock access to books, eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, research databases, job search tools, language-learning programs, public computers, Wi-Fi, and more.

“Getting a library card is one of the simplest and most impactful ways to invest in yourself,” Braithwaite stated. “Bridgeport Public Library is also fine-free, so there are no hurdles to accessing all that we have to offer and everything to gain.”
