Homes for the Brave has expanded its facility to meet the needs of veterans across Fairfield County.

The updated facility will allow staff to “better serve and further enhance the support offered to the courageous men and women who have selflessly served our nation and are experiencing homelessness,” according to the organization.
A grand reopening ceremony was held on Nov. 24 at its headquarters at 655 Park Ave. The event brought together Gov. Ned Lamont, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz and many other community leaders and supporters who toured the renovated building..
Homes for the Brave has provided transitional housing, clinical support and life-skills training for more than two decades, serving veterans experiencing homelessness, hunger and mental health challenges. The nonprofit said the improvements will enable it to serve more veterans, expand on-site programs and deepen its partnerships in the Bridgeport community.
